WORK // I’m a HIPpy Foundation
Building a complete digital infrastructure for a brand new non-profit.
An important mission. No online presence. Everything needed to be built — and it needed to work from day one.

THE NEED
the starting point
A strong mission without the infrastructure to support it.
When I'm a HIPpy launched, they had a genuinely important mission: raising funds and awareness for hip dysplasia and related disorders, connecting families, medical professionals, and supporters across Canada and beyond. What they didn't have was any online presence to reach them.
The scope was significant. They needed a complete digital operation — not just a homepage, but a full working infrastructure: a website capable of educating and converting visitors, plus all the backend tools to actually run a growing non-profit. CRM, event management, online donation processing, community forum, e-commerce. All built for an audience that ranges from worried new parents to orthopaedic surgeons.

THE APPROACH
how we got there
Start with the vision. Build the infrastructure around it.
I started by listening — understanding the organization’s goals, voice, and what they needed the digital presence to do over the long term, not just at launch.
We built a clean, responsive Squarespace site as the central hub, then layered in the tools the team would actually use: a CRM for donor and supporter management, a community forum to connect families, online donation processing, event software, and an e-commerce setup for fundraising. Every piece was chosen to fit the way the organization works — not the other way around.
The goal throughout was infrastructure that would scale with the mission. There’s a meaningful difference between a site that looks ready and one that actually is.

THE RESULTS
the good stuff
Operational from the moment the digital doors opened.
The site became their primary connection point almost immediately. Donations processed without friction. Events filled. The forum gave families a place to find one another — which was, in many ways, the most important outcome of all.
The organization launched with a digital foundation that matched the weight of their mission and continues to support their growth.

WORKING ON SOMETHING THAT NEEDS THIS KIND OF FOUNDATION?
Non-profit launches are some of my favourite projects to work on.
